We caught up with Nadia from Stories Event Hire to chat about their stock, styling approach and how they work with their couples to bring a vision to life.

How would you describe your signature styling approach, and what makes it unique?

At Stories Event Hire, our styling approach is all about creating spaces that feel effortless, elegant, and deeply personal. We believe every wedding and/or event tells a story, and our role is to bring that story to life through thoughtfully curated furniture. Our signature look blends timeless style with a relaxed, modern edge. Layered textures, natural tones, and a balance of sophistication and comfort. What makes us unique is our attention to atmosphere, we don’t just furnish spaces, we create moments that invite people to connect, celebrate, and feel at home.

Comfortable, Cozy, Relaxed, Elegant

When you first meet a couple, how do you help them define and refine their wedding look and feel?

Every couple has a different vision of what they are looking for. We chat through their ideas by asking for their overall theme of the day, which allows for us to help create a moodboard to fit in with their theme. At Stories Event Hire we guide the couples through their inspiration and guide them by providing assistance into what we can create in the space they have which aligns with their venue and overall wedding and/or event story.

Can you share an example of a wedding where your styling transformed the space?

In May we curated two amazing lounge area pockets at Granary Estates, they had two lounge areas at the back of The Granary Barn between the bar and tables creating the perfect transition between the different areas.

We worked with Jess from One Part Love as the couple had sweet treats as well as a wedding cake so added in sideboards to the lounge areas with crates to create dessert stations for her brownies and cookies giving people a place to sit and enjoy their treat! We also provided a sideboard for the cake and paired with Millies flowers from Studio Artemis it created a real WOW factor!

With the lounge areas we curated two areas with an array of greens and neutrals, from green sofas to green cushions even down to the green rugs! It was monochromatic greens from floor to ceiling with neutral statement linen pieces to make it all come together perfectly

How do you balance current trends with timeless elements so the wedding feels personal but not dated?

We carefully curate a collection of stock that is timeless and meets most peoples needs. Our stock is not from high street shops where trendy stock comes and goes.

Trends to come and go, we try to stay in our own design line ensuring our stock is timeless. We change our cushion covers, decor pieces and accents per wedding/event to fit in with our couples theme and ensure that they are on trend with the wedding. This balance ensures each wedding and/or event is unique and on-trend but will not date over time or feel over-styled.

What’s your process for working with venues and other suppliers to make sure everything comes together seamlessly?

Collaboration is key in the wedding and event industry!

We have experience liaising with a wide variety of different venues and suppliers, from working collaboratively with suppliers for installs through to leading and coordinating with a huge team of suppliers. We communicate with the stylist, florist and venue to confirm the props we are providing, alongside our plan of action to ensure it aligns with the other suppliers we are working closely with.

From ensuring the floor plan is correct, to confirming the access logistics, to the colour palette with the stylist and florist.

Our team ensures that the delivery, set up and take down flows smoothly, creating a stress-free experience for our clients.

What’s one detail or design element you think couples often overlook, but can make a big impact?

Lounge areas! Lounge areas regularly get overlooked, however they completely transform the space. A place to chill out and relax! Weddings are long days and there is nothing better than taking the weight off your feet from all the dancing. Your guests want a comfortable space to relax, chat and soak in the atmosphere.

What types of décor items do you offer, and how do you keep your collection fresh and relevant?

Our collection includes lounge areas, armchairs, sofas, coffee tables, dining furniture, rugs, cushions and lamps (accent decor).

We constantly are adding and growing our collection, looking closely at current trends to supply couples with last look. As well creating a timeless elegant look for everyone. We tend to find our stock from antique shops. Every season we sit down as a team, we review what is trending, what can fit with our brand and where we want to take Stories Event Hire next.

How do you guide couples in choosing hire pieces that work with their venue and theme?

We find booking our couples onto consultation calls and creating them visual mood boards help to showcase the work we can do for their wedding and / or event. You have to consider the whole picture, the venue style, layout, lighting and season. The goal is always balance, creating spaces that feel intentional, beautiful, and true to the couple’s story.
