Sustainability

Tips for your wedding day:

  • Reuse your ceremony flowers during your wedding breakfast
Place bouquets in water and style them on the cake table or alongside your card box. Transfer your signing table flowers to your top table, and repurpose your ceremony arch as a photo booth backdrop or position it behind your top table. The possibilities are endless!

    Hire rather than buy
Choose items from our prop shop instead of purchasing décor that will only be used once.

Choose our confetti made from real, natural petals.

Purchase our eco-friendly confetti made from 100% natural bougainvillea petals, hand-picked and air-dried without pesticides or chemicals.

Completely biodegradable and every pack supports sustainable farming and helps fund wildlife conservation and community projects in Kenya through the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, turning a small wedding detail into something meaningful and impactful.

    Travel smarter
Encourage car sharing or arrange minibuses or coaches for guests.

    Stay onsite
Stay onsite to reduce travel and fully embrace our venue. Begin your morning with birds chirping, wild deer playing in the fields around the Granary Barns, and the sun rising beyond your floor-to-ceiling windows. Not only is this a more sustainable option, it’s a truly magical way to begin your day.

    Be mindful with evening food
Reduce food waste by not catering for all of your evening guests - we recommend ordering evening food for around 75% of your guests.

    Go paperless
Opt for digital invitations or a wedding website instead of printed stationery to reduce paper waste. If you do choose to print, select recycled or seed paper.

    Support local suppliers
Working with local businesses helps reduce travel and supports the local community.

Donate or resell after the wedding
Pass on décor, dresses or suits or accessories by donating them or reselling them once your day is over.

Choose seasonal flowers or potted plants
Seasonal blooms and living plants are a more sustainable choice, as they require less energy to grow and transport while naturally reflecting the beauty of the time of year. Choosing flowers that are in season, or opting for potted plants, helps reduce your environmental impact and creates a fresh, timeless look that feels perfectly in harmony with your surroundings.

    Regift your flowers or plants
Let guests take flowers or plants home as they leave - a beautiful and eco-friendly keepsake.
