Meet the Supplier: Capella Photography

Meet Laani, the photographer behind Capella Photography. Laani believes that the best photos aren’t choreographed, they’re felt, and her goal is to capture your wedding day exactly as it unfolds.

Laani focuses on “storytelling” style, which means she is a quiet observer for most of the day, documentarian-style. She wants you to look back at your gallery and not just remember how you looked, but exactly how you felt.

When asked about her approach, Laani said: “This approach feels particularly at home at The Granary Estates. I absolutely love photographing weddings there; The Barn provides a backdrop that is both grand and incredibly intimate. It’s a venue that allows me to hang back and capture those genuine, candid moments while you simply enjoy the party. Whether you're tucked away in the courtyard for golden hour or dancing under the beams, it’s the perfect setting for a day that is as relaxed as it is beautiful.”

What is your signature style?

“At Capella Photography, my signature style is built on the belief that the most beautiful moments aren’t choreographed—they’re felt.

When I looked back at my own wedding photos I felt I was reliving the day. I got emotional seeing photos of my dad tearing up when he first saw me in my dress, and I felt excited when I saw my husband's face when he first turned around when I was walking down the aisle. And that’s how I want you to feel. I want to fill your gallery with authentic moments that you can relive time and time again.

You aren't just a date in my diary; you are a story I’m honored to tell. I value building a trusting relationship with my couples from the very first email. By the time your wedding day comes around, I want to feel less like a "vendor" and more like a calm, supportive friend who just happens to have a camera.

I am obsessed with the way light can transform a moment. I value timeless, light-filled imagery that honors the thought and detail you’ve put into your day.

I strive to create a visual legacy that looks as beautiful in fifty years as it does today.“

What do you love about weddings at The Granary Estates?

“For me what I love most about working at the granary estates is how versatile the venue is allowing each couple to put their own unique and beautiful touch to make their day a true reflection of them. This seamless experience is a testament to the amazing team who work tirelessly to ensure that nothing is too much to ask. As a photographer, I’m constantly inspired by the variety of backdrops available—from the historic character of the barns to the relaxed elegance of the

courtyard and the sweeping views along the driveway. It is a venue that doesn't just look beautiful on camera; it carries a genuine warmth and a 'feel-good' atmosphere that lasts from the morning preparations until the final dance."

What are your top tips for couples planning their wedding?

1.) “Allow more time in the morning than you might think. The mornings always go so quickly and can often feel rushed. To avoid stress give yourself an extra 20 minutes more than you think between getting in your dress and leaving. This way you can get some beautiful portraits in your dress but you can also just have some time to really take it all in with your loved ones, no stress just excitement! (Bonus points if you allocate someone to keep things nice and tidy in the morning so that your photos don’t look messy)”

2.) “The Sun doesn’t wait! If you want golden hour photos incorporate this into your timeline. Look up sunset times prior to your wedding, and if your photographer says it’s time to go for golden hour don’t wait because you might just miss it.”

3.) “Just have fun! It’s so easy to stress on your wedding day, and I find that you also spend a lot of your day not actually with your partner. Try and stay together as much as possible, you want to enjoy this day together. It will help you feel less stressed and there will be plenty of photos of the two of you to look back on enjoying time together with your loved ones.”

Do you a favourite moment?

"One of my absolute favorite moments at The Granary Estates had to be the evening a couple surprised their guests with a traditional Ceilidh. There is something so infectious about the energy of a Ceilidh; within minutes, the entire barn was alive with movement and contagious laughter. What made it so special was that most guests had no idea what they were doing, but with a caller there to guide the chaos, the result was pure, unscripted joy. Seeing the bride and groom beaming, surrounded by their favorite people and celebrating a beautiful nod to their heritage, was a moment of total authenticity.”

Any trends you're loving right now?

"I’m really loving the quiet luxury editorial style/trend at the moment. Things like Black tie, fruit being incorporated in decor, story telling through design, deeper tones like olive green, Merlot Red or Ivory, flash photography, customised anything. All things like these add a subtle nod to quiet luxury and photograph beautifully.”
