Could spring be the perfect time to say ‘I Do’

If you're in the middle of wedding planning and feeling the pressure to secure a Saturday in peak summer, we'd love to gently ask you to pause for a moment and consider spring.

April and May at The Granary Estates are something truly special. The Suffolk countryside comes alive around us, the light is soft and golden, and there's a sense of freshness in the air that no other season quite captures. And right now, we have some beautiful dates available across both weekdays and weekends in April and May 2027, which means if spring has been whispering to you, now is the time to listen.

The barn in bloom

Our 18th-century flint barns sit surrounded by open farmland on the border of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, and in spring, the landscape transforms. The cornfields begin to green, the courtyard garden comes into its own, and the natural light streaming through our glass walkway and flooding the barns is simply stunning.

The magic of a spring barn wedding

Beyond the beauty, spring weddings come with some brilliant practical advantages that are worth knowing about.

Accommodation books up months in advance for summer weekends. A spring date, particularly a weekday or an early Spring weekend means your guests have a far easier time finding somewhere to stay, and can often travel more affordably too.

Our on-site Granary Cottages and Lodges, nestled down the quiet rural driveway, are available to your wedding party and guests throughout the celebration period, giving everyone a relaxed and beautiful base.

Flowers are at their most breathtaking. Peonies, ranunculus, sweet peas, tulips, garden roses, the florals available in April and May are some of the most romantic and sought-after varieties of the year.

Styling a spring wedding at The Granary Estates

One of the things we love most about our venue is its versatility. The original flint walls, exposed timber beams, and warm wooden floors provide a naturally beautiful canvas meaning you can arrive with almost any vision, and we'll help you bring it to life.

For spring, couples often lean into:

  • Soft, romantic palettes: think blush, sage, ivory, and soft pastels all feel wonderfully at home here

  • Abundant botanical florals: imagine overflowing ceremony arches, blossom-heavy tablescapes, and wildflower posies

  • Relaxed garden elements: with our courtyard fully licensed for ceremonies, an outdoor 'I do' surrounded by spring blooms is possible

  • Golden hour portraits: the longer spring evenings mean you capture that incredible soft light without rushing

Our team of dedicated wedding coordinators will work with you from the very beginning, and our carefully curated list of recommended suppliers includes some of the finest florists, photographers, and stylists in the region, many of whom are well-versed in making the most of a spring setting.
