Mulberry Grove: The Wedding Colour PaletteTrend You Need to Know About

If there's one wedding colour palette that has captured our hearts recently, it's the Mulberry Grove aesthetic. A lush, romantic combination of deep burgundy, rich olive green, and warm earthy accents that feels instantly at home in modern barn venue setting such as ours.

This isn't just a trend for those planning an autumn wedding. The beauty of the Mulberry Grove palette is its versatility: it works across the seasons, it photographs gloriously, and, perhaps most importantly for couples making big decisions, it ages beautifully. These are colours you'll look back on in twenty years and still love.

At our recent venue showcase, we brought this palette to life across every corner of the space, and the results were nothing short of stunning. In this blog, we're sharing everything we did, everything we loved, and all the ideas you can take away and make your own.

What is the Mulberry Grove wedding palette?

The Mulberry Grove colour palette centres on two hero shades: a deep, jewel-toned burgundy, the colour of a ripe mulberry or a darkened rose, and a muted, earthy olive green that echoes the forest floor, and the kind of foliage you find winding along old stone walls.

Together, these shades are a match made in heaven. The burgundy brings warmth, depth, and romance. The olive brings groundedness, a connection to the natural world, and a quietly sophisticated edge. When paired together, particularly against natural wood, aged bronze, cream linen, and candlelight they create one of the most atmospheric wedding colour combinations.

Step away from the white tablecloth

Let's talk about tablecloths, because this is where so many wedding receptions play it safe, and where the Mulberry Grove palette can work wonders.

The white tablecloth has been a wedding staple for decades, and we understand the appeal: it's clean, it's classic, it feels formal. But when we set the tables at our venue showcase using deep olive green linen instead, the transformation was immediate. The room felt warmer. The florals popped. The candlelight glowed.

Green tablecloths, whether in a rich forest tone, a muted sage, or the olive we used at our showcase create a sense of being surrounded by nature, even indoors. They ground the tablescape in a way that white simply cannot, and they make every other element on the table feel more intentional and considered.

Is the Mulberry Grove Palette Right for Your Wedding?

The Mulberry Grove palette is endlessly adaptable, but it particularly shines in certain settings and seasons. Here's a quick guide to help you picture it for your own day:

Autumn and winter weddings: this is where the palette feels most at home, echoing the richness of the season. From November candlelight and September harvest tables, to December velvet and foliage.

Spring and summer weddings: lighten the palette with more cream, dusty pink, and sage elements. Dial up the olive, dial back the burgundy, and it transitions beautifully into warmer months.

Against the barn backdrop: the organic, earthy quality of this palette is made for exposed beams, flint walls and wooden furniture.

Garden ceremonies: with the right florals and a relaxed approach to structure, the Mulberry Grove palette works beautifully in our courtyard garden space.
