What to do the day before and the day after your wedding
Your wedding day will fly by in a blur of excitement, so making the most of the time around it is just as important. The day before and the day after are perfect opportunities to slow down, connect with loved ones, and ease into (or out of) the celebrations. Here are some tried and tested ideas to help you plan those moments.
The day before…
Keep it calm and organised
As tempting as it is to fill your schedule, this is the day to prioritise calm. Double check your key details, outfits steamed, bags packed, items dropped with our team and then step away from the logistics. Our team works directly with your caterers and suppliers to set up your tables and smaller décor items, ensuring everything is in place so you don’t need to lift a finger.
Stay on site
Booking our accommodation for the night before means you and your wedding party can arrive, settle in and start getting ready without the stress of travel on the morning itself.
Spend time with family and friends
Many couples choose to host a relaxed dinner or BBQ for close family and friends. It’s a great way to welcome everyone, set the tone, and spend proper time with people you won’t get to speak to as much on the wedding day itself.
Do something just for you
Carve out a pocket of time just for the two of you. It could be a walk, a coffee, or simply writing each other a short note to exchange in the morning. These small moments anchor you before the whirlwind begins.
Relax and recharge
Book in a yoga class, a massage, or even just set aside time for a bath. The focus should be on feeling rested, not rushed. Trust us, a good night’s sleep is the best wedding accessory you can have.

The day after…
Wake up in the countryside
Wakeup in our honeymoon lodge on your first morning as newlyweds. Surrounded by peaceful countryside
A slow start
A lazy breakfast or brunch with family and friends is one of the simplest yet most joyful ways to relive the memories. Get together and swap photos and funny stories from the night before.
Extend the celebration
If you want to keep the party going, consider something low-key and fun. Think a casual BBQ or a relaxed afternoon at a local pub. It’s a chance to soak up the atmosphere without the formalities.
Time for two
If you’d rather retreat and soak up the newlywed glow, plan a private escape. A quiet countryside stroll, a spa afternoon, or if you’re not heading away on honeymoon straight away a mini-moon night away gives you the headspace to reflect on the day you’ve just shared.
Plan ahead
Whatever you do, avoid leaving yourselves with a to-do list. Arrange for gifts, flowers and decorations to be collected or looked after, so you can focus on enjoying the moment rather than packing boxes.
The day before and after your wedding are an extension of the celebration, just without the timetable. Keep it simple, personal and remember it doesn’t have to be planned to perfection.
